Sakura is located between Tokyo and Narita Airport. Although it is not a convenient location, the DIC Kawamura Museum and the National Museum of Japanese History are located in Sakura. At the art museum, you can enjoy masterpieces of art in a crowd-free environment. At the historical museum. you can deeply learn about Japan's history and culture. Sakura also has castle ruins and restored samurai residences, allowing you to imagine the era when samurai lived.

We'll take a JR Soubu rapid train bound for Narita Airport, which departs from
Tokyo station at 8:12.
※ The number of train services is very limited, so please make sure that you arrive at Tokyo Station on time.
We'll head for DIC Kawamura Museum by free shuttle bus, which departs from Sakura station at 9:20.

The museum showcases a diverse collection of artworks primarily from the 20th century. Its architecture harmonizes with the surrounding natural environment, offering visitors a serene experience. The museum houses over 1,000 artworks, ranging from portraits by Rembrandt to European modern art （including Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall) and American art from the latter half of the 20th century.
Set amidst a lush, approximately 30,000-square-meter garden, the museum provides picturesque views of the countryside. Visitors can enjoy seasonal flora and fauna.

The Kawamura Museum of Art has a carefully prepared Italian restaurant where you can have lunch with seasonal ingredients
After lunch, we head for the National Museum of Japanese History by free shuttle bus, which departs from Kawamura Museum at 12:45.

You can take photos on the bamboo forest stairs that samurai once walked.

We'll walk from Samurai House to Sakura Station （It takes about 15-20 minutes walk. By taxi it costs JPY1000-2000. Smetimes it's very hard to catch a taxi due to limited quantities of taxis.）and take a train at 16:55 for Tokyo.

The exhibits at the DIC Kawamura Museum and the National Museum of Japanese History change depending on the season. Therefore, I will select and guide you from what is on display that day.
As there are few bus services, you will have to walk on your return trip. You will walk a lot, so please wear comfortable shoes.
It is our first time in Japan & our first time in Tokyo. Although we like to be independent, we thought a guide would be good for our first day in Tokyo. Maki was excellent! She was extremely polite & helpful & made our integration into Japanese culture very easy. Maki has excellent knowledge for getting around Tokyo & was very informative about Japanese history.
